VP opens 5th dormitory for front-liners

Vice President Leni Robredo has opened another dormitory for healthcare workers and other front-liners in Metro Manila.

Located in Novaliches, it is the fifth dormitory opened by the Office of the Vice President after four others were established in Manila and Quezon City. The latest dormitory, Robredo said, is near Commonwealth Hospital, FEU Hospital-Marian Medical Arts Building, and Neopolitan General Hospital.

“Our dorms are open for health workers, medical practitioners, and other front-liners, such as security guards, and other volunteers for our programs related to the COVID-19 response,” Robredo said in her Facebook page. “We sincerely thank our Angat Buhay partners who worked with us to make this possible.”

First-come, first-served

Due to limited bed capacity, accommodations will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who wish to avail themselves of the free lodgings can send their full name, gender, civil status, contact number, email address, present home address and emergency contact number to ovpfreedormservice@gmail.com or via mobile at 0998-5917408. They should also mention their designation and the hospital or organization they work for, as well as the schedules of their shift.

Through its private sector partners and volunteers, Robredo’s office has distributed personal protective equipment to front-liners and provided free shuttle services across hospitals in various cities.
