CITY OF ILAGAN –– Mayor Josemarie Diaz, his wife Evelyn, a sectoral representative, and their son City Councilor Jay Eveson have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The mayor said they contracted the virus while performing their duties and are now on home quarantine.

He said he also suspended the operation of City Hall since all local officials and many government employees could have been exposed to him and his family.

In an executive order, the mayor also placed the entire city on stricter enhanced community quarantine from August 6 to 12 due to the local virus transmission. INQ
