Did You Know: Aug. 6 to 12 is National Hospital Week

/ 05:06 AM August 06, 2020

National Hospital Week is observed from Aug. 6 to 12 by virtue of Proclamation No. 181 signed on May 21, 1993, by then President Fidel Ramos.

The observance coincides with the birth anniversary of the late Dr. Sixto Y. Orosa who pioneered the organization of what evolved into the present-day hospital system.

Orosa drafted Act No. 3168 of the Philippine Legislature that established provincial hospitals throughout the country, which then developed into a national hospital system.
