KMP calls for Duque’s resignation, more mass testing

/ 04:30 AM August 03, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — A farmers’ group has called for Health Secretary Francisco Duque III’s resignation amid the sharp rise in coronavirus cases in the country.

The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) also said it supported the call of health workers to ramp up free mass testing efforts, aggressive contact tracing and the setting up of more quarantine centers.

“The Department of Health cannot conceal the fact that the curve is steadily rising with increasing COVID-19 infections by doctoring COVID figures. If Secretary Duque has an ounce of ‘delicadeza’ left, he will resign immediately,” KMP chair Danilo Ramos said.
