The female patient from Bien Unido town had a fever a day after giving birth at the Don Emilio Del Valle Memorial Hospital in Ubay town on July 27, 2020.

Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap, in a post on social media, announced that another patient from Talibon town also contracted the virus.

The latest COVID-19 patients, he said, had no travel history to places with high infection rates.

“We classify it as community transmission. This is the report we received from the DOH (Department of Health),” Yap said.

He said the two new patients have been isolated.

Yap appealed to the residents to follow health protocols like wearing a face mask and to observing physical distancing.

“Now that our community transmission is increasing, we must be careful. Stay at home. Self-discipline is important,” Yap said.
