6 Abus, 3 soldiers killed in Sulu clash
MANILA, Philippines — Six suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits and three soldiers were killed during a gunfight with Army troopers in Patikul, Sulu, on Friday.
Army Maj. Arvin Encinas, spokesperson of the Western Mindanao Command, said members of the 32nd Infantry Battalion were attacked by an undetermined number of local terrorists in Barangay Taong at 11 a.m. while conducting security operations.
Encinas said three soldiers were wounded and were brought to the Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital in Jolo town.
