Swab test no longer required for entry to Oriental Mindoro starting Aug. 3

CITY OF CALAPAN – A negative result in a swab test or reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test will no longer be a requirement for all persons who will enter the province of Oriental Mindoro starting Monday, August 3.

Governor Humerlito Dolor made the announcement on his official social media post on Friday evening.

Dolor, in a separate message to the Inquirer on Saturday, said that to ensure public safety, the province will issue guidelines today, Saturday, which will be effective on Monday for the entry of locally stranded individuals (LSIs), returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs).

Dolor appealed to travelers to postpone their trips going to the ports of Batangas province and other entry points to Oriental Mindoro until Monday while the quarantine facilities in his province are being prepared for them, unless they already have a negative RT-PCR result that will allow them to travel at any time.

“If the travel authority will expire this weekend, the province will help adjust the validity of the travel order,” said Dolor.
