MANILA, Philippines — Life will be “back to normal” by December, President Rodrigo Duterte assured as he urged the public to wait a bit more for a vaccine to be developed against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“I promise you, by the grace of God, I hope by December, we would be back to normal,” Duterte said in a taped address aired Friday.
“Meron akong bakuna. Ang hingin ko sa inyo ganito, magtiis lang kayo ng konti dahil nga sa hawaan,” he added.
Duterte added that the country might get its first COVID-19 vaccine from China, even citing its promise to prioritize the Philippines.
“Kaya bilib din talaga ako sa mga Chinese eh, baka ang una nating makuha from China,” Duterte said.
