Customs authorities at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) found P4.5 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) stuffed in tin cans inside a parcel from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Consigned to a resident of Hagonoy town, Bulacan province, the parcel was discovered while Bureau of Customs personnel were examining unclaimed DHL cargoes at Naia Customs Bonded Warehouses on July 22.

The illegal drugs, weighing a total of 640 grams, were placed inside two cans of chocolate wafer along with various items that included a stuffed toy and candles. —Tina G. Santos
