Dole: Double pay for today may be deferred

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III has reminded employers that people who report for work today are entitled to 200 percent of their salary, since July 31 is considered a regular holiday in observance of Eid al-Adha.

But because the COVID-19 pandemic is a national emergency, Bello said employers are allowed to defer payment of the holiday pay until such time that normal operations resume in the establishment. —Tina G. Santos
