CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—A Dipolog City judge issued an arrest warrant for a former Zamboanga del Norte congressman and member of a prominent political family in the province for kidnapping and serious illegal detention.

Judge Jose Rene Dondoyano, of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 6 of the 9th Judicial Region based in Dipolog, issued the warrant for the arrest of Seth Frederick Jalosjos, popularly known as “Bullet,” along with Allan Jalosjos and several unidentified men in criminal case No. 23649 on Wednesday (July 29).

A former congressman of Zamboanga del Norte’s first district, Jalosjos ran for governor in the province last year but lost to incumbent Gov. Roberto Uy. He is the son of convicted child rapist Romeo Jalosjos, also a former Zamboanga del Norte representative.

The warrant directed law enforcers to arrest the suspects who are believed to be in Dakak Park and Beach Resorts, which is owned by the elder Jalosjos, in Dapitan City or anywhere in the Philippines and to bring them to the court.

On Wednesday, just after the warrant came out, the Jalosjos camp filed an urgent motion at Dondoyano’s court asking for the “immediate deferment or recall of the warrant.”
