Cop on way to work killed by motorcycle assassins in Marawi

ILIGAN CITY—A policeman was killed by still unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants on Thursday (July 30) in Marawi City.

Col. Madzgani Mukaram, Lanao del Sur police chief, said SSgt Alicman Sancopan, 46, was with the Kapai municipal police but had been detailed to the MotorCorps of the Marawi police station.

Mukaram said Sangcopan was driving a motorcycle on his way to work when waylaid by the gunmen around 7 a.m. along Narciso Ramos Highway at the village of Ragayan in Marantao town.

Sangcopan was shot in the head.

Police are doing their work to investigate the killing.
