TAGBILARAN CITY –– A couple from Catigbian town in Bohol tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Catigbian Mayor Elizabeth Mandin said the couple from Barangay Haguilanan got infected when they had close contact with the town’s first COVID-19 patient, a 39-year-old delivery driver.

Mandin said the couple was brought to the municipal isolation unit.

Catigbian town has three active cases of COVID-19.

Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap, in a Facebook post, urged residents to follow the minimum health standards, such as wearing face masks and physical distancing.

“There is a big possibility that many asymptomatic carriers of the virus walk among us. There is a big possibility we might get infected if we are not cautious,” he said.

Bohol has 81 COVID-19 cases, with 22 were active patients, 56 recoveries, and three deaths.
