OMB confiscates P15M worth of printing machines, paraphernalia for pirated DVDs
MANILA, Philippines—The Optical Media Board (OMB) confiscated about P15-million worth of printing equipment and paraphernalia to be used for the packaging of pirated DVDs along Bacood Sta. Mesa, Manila.
OMB Chairman Ronnie Rickets said they conducted the raid following a tip that a printing press shop has been making covers for pirated DVDs. Establishment owner Walfredo Orlanda is missing but they have arrested his brother, a certain Ding.
The OMB confiscated three heavy duty printing machine, inks and quality papers as well as print outs for Metro Manila Film Festival Entries.
Rickets said said Orlanda and his brother will be slapped with a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9239 or the Optical Media Act. Tetch Torres, INQUIRER.net
