72% of Pinoys received COVID-19 cash aid
MANILA, Philippines — Seven out of 10 Filipinos said they received money from the government since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, results of the special Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.
The survey, conducted from July 3 to 6, found that 72 percent of Filipinos said their families received aid money during the health crisis from any branch or agency of the government, while 28 percent did not receive any money-help.
SWS used mobile phone and computer-assisted telephone interviews of 1,555 Filipinos 18 years old and above nationwide.
By geographical areas, those saying their families received money from the government were highest in Metro Manila (85 percent), followed by Luzon outside of Manila (75 percent), Mindanao (65 percent) and the Visayas (64 percent).
The survey had a sampling margin of error of plus-minus 2 percent for national percentages, plus-minus 6 percent for Metro Manila, plus-minus 5 percent for Luzon outside Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao.
