BOY FOUND HANGING DEAD
A 15-YEAR-OLD boy was found hanging dead in a nipa hut in barangay Calajoan, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.
A neighbor found the boy suspended with a rope tied around his neck last Wednesday night.
Police said no one lived in the nipa hut owned by Ildebrando Niadas.
It served as a storage site for wood.
Police said a note was found in the boy’s handwriting.
It read: “Salamat sa mga agaw nako ug sa Team Boracay. I love you Mama and Papa. Ma, mao ni akong gibuhat kay wala na ko kasabot. Salamat sa tanan.” (Thank you cousins and Team Boracay. I love you Mama and Papa. Ma, the reason why I did this is because I don’t understand. Thank you for everything.)
Four hours before the boy was found dead, a complaint was filed against him for allegedly kissing a 12-year-old girl in their neighborhood and touching her private parts, said PO2 Wendyl Arañas of the Minglanilla police station.
Arañas said they waited for the boy at the Minglanilla police station to answer the complaint, but he did not show up.
The boy was rushed to the Minglanilla District Hospital where attending physicians declared him dead.

MAN KILLED IN CORDOVA HOME
A 42-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead in his home by three unidentified men in barangay Ibabao, Cordova town, off Mactan Island, Cebu, last Wednesday morning.
Jesus Dungog was shot in the head.
Police said Dungog was asleep when an unidentified man entered his house and shot him.
The victim’s brother, who was sleeping in a room during the attack, told police that he saw the assailant hurriedly leave their house after a gunshot rang out.
He said two other men were seen waiting for the assailant a few meters from the house.

GIRL DROWNS OFF TALISAY
A 9-YEAR-OLD girl drowned while swimming in the waters off barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, southern Cebu.
Police said the incident happened while the girl was with family members having a beach party last Wednesday afternoon.
The girl’s parents left ahead and left her with an aunt.
A commotion broke out when the girl was seen floating in the waters.
The girl was rushed to nearest hospital where attending physicians declared her dead, said police. CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
MAN COLLARED IN DRUG BUY-BUST
POLICE arrested a 27-year-old man in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Bangbang, Cordova town in Mactan Island, Cebu.
Antonio Makan, a resident, was arrested after handing sachets of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer past 6 p.m. last Wednesday, said police
Police said Makan’s cohort identified as Hernando Villamor was able to escape.
Police said Villamor escaped with two P100 bills used as buy-bust money.
Police said Villamor was actually the subject of the operatio, which was conducted after one week of surveillance..
Charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against Villamor and Makan, said police. CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
HABAL DRIVER NABBED FOR DRUGS
A HABAL-HABAL driver was arrested for alleged possession of drugs at a checkpoint in barangay San roque, Talisay City, southern Cebu.
Police said Ryan Abella, 37, of barangay Linao, Talisay City, yielded three small packs of suspected shabu, said police.
Abella, who was driving a motorcycle, was flagged down at a checkpoint by members of the Talisay City police.
He failed to present a driver’s license.
Upon further inspection, police said they found packs of shabu. The man was detained at the Talisay City Police pending the filing of charges against him, said police. CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
