On time: Duterte arrives at Batasan for penultimate Sona
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte arrived on time at the House of Representatives in Quezon City on Monday afternoon for his fifth State of the Nation Address (Sona).
The presidential helicopter carrying Duterte touched down minutes before 4 p.m. at the Batasan Complex,
In 2019, Duterte arrived an hour late at the Batasang Pambansa for his Sona.
For this’s year Sona, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the President will unveil the government’s COVID-19 recovery roadmap and will discuss the health crisis “in much detail.”
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, meanwhile, said that Duterte’s written speech for his 5th Sona will not go beyond an hour and 20 minutes.
