LUCENA CITY –– At least five children contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the town of Guinayangan in Quezon province, local authorities reported.
The Guinayangan public information office said on social media Sunday afternoon that among the latest confirmed virus carriers in the locality are children aged 6, 9, 10, 11, and 14. No added details on the patients were provided.
Guinayangan has logged a total of 19 cases but at least four of them have recovered.
The remaining 15 active virus carriers in the locality are relatives, according to local health authorities.
On Sunday, at least 13 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Quezon province.
However, seven COVID-19 patients have recuperated, the Quezon public information office (QPIO) said in its 5 p.m. report.
On Monday morning, the QPIO reported two more new COVID-19 cases in the town of Tiaong and Tayabas City.
Quezon now has 288 COVID-19 cases with 196 recoveries and 15 deaths.
