LTO suspends license of ‘reckless’ bus driver
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended for three months the license of a bus driver caught speeding on the Edsa busway after his vehicle struck a concrete barrier which then hit the door of a car.
A hearing has been set at 2 p.m. today at the LTO office in Quezon City on the show-cause order issued to Filigrin Lomosco, driver of the Roval Express Inc. bus, and the bus operator for “gross violation of road transport rules and safety.”
The LTO said Lomosco violated sections 27 (improper person to operate a motor vehicle) and 48 (reckless driving) of the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
The July 23 incident was captured by the dashboard camera of the car owner, Camz Wong. The now viral video showed the bus sideswiping the concrete barrier on the southbound lane of Edsa near Rochester Street in Mandaluyong City, which then hit Wong’s car.
