Two GSIS offices closed temporarily after employees contract COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) main office in Pasay City and its branch in Quezon City will temporarily close after several employees tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement Sunday, GSIS said its two offices will be closed from July 27 to 29 for disinfection. It did not detail how many employees contracted the virus.

“We are now thoroughly disinfecting the two offices as well as conducting contact tracing and monitoring of employees who tested positive for the virus,” GSIS president and general manager Rolando Macasaet said as quoted in the statement.

Macasaet said GSIS employees will work remotely under alternative work arrangements during the duration of the offices’ closure.

“Our members, pensioners  and other clients may transact with us through our online facilities for loans and claims by emailing the required documents to the designated email addresses published in our website,” Macasaet said.

“Pensioners may also submit the requirements for the Annual Pensioners Revalidation (APIR) via email. We will interview them through Viber, FB messenger, Skype or Zoom after we have received their requirements,” he added.

The public may also reach GSIS through its Facebook page and its contact number 8-847-4747.
