47 new COVID-19 patients in Cagayan Valley

TUGUEGARAO CITY – Cagayan Valley logged 47 new patients afflicted with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Saturday, which caused the total number of infections in Region II to balloon to 291, according to the Department of Health office in this region.

The youngest patients are a three-year-old girl from the Cagayan town of Tuao who arrived from Tondo, Manila; a seven-year-old boy from Iguig town in Cagayan who returned home from Paranaque City; and a 13-year-old boy from the Isabela town of Naguilian who had no travel history.

The oldest patients are a 75-year-old individual from Tuguegarao and 65-year-old woman in Tuao, who came from Mandaluyong City.

Dr. Rio Magpantay, Cagayan Valley regional health director, said 29 cases were recorded in Cagayan province, 12 in Isabela province, and six in Nueva Vizcaya province.

Six of the Cagayan patients are in Tuguegarao, five in Alcala town, five in Tuao, three in Iguig, three in Peñablanca town, two in Enrile town, two in Calayan town, and one each in the municipalities of Solana, Piat and Rizal.

In Isabela, three patients come from Delfin Albano town, two are in Naguilian, two in Ramon town, two in Angadanan town and one patient each in Cordon and Aurora towns and in Cauayan City.

In Nueva Vizcaya, five patients are from Aritao town and one in Solano town. Villamor Visaya Jr.
