NBI busts alleged cyberporn operation in Isabela

SANTIAGO CITY – A business process outsourcing (BPO) operator and 16 of his workers are facing charges for allegedly operating an online pornography site, a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) official said.

John Leonard Deniega Llena, owner of I-Link Business Process Outsourcing Services, and his employees face cybercrime and human trafficking charges, said lawyer Timoteo Rejano, NBI Isabela field office chief, on Saturday (July 25).

Still being tracked down are Llena’s alleged accomplices, Wilbert Tolentino and Warly Garcia, he said.

“We acted on a formal complaint from a tipster that the company was scamming foreigners,” he said. I-Link allegedly sells adult content via live streaming videos and photographs.

The tip was provided by a woman, who claims she was made to take part in the videos and said their salaries depend on the number of foreign clients they could lure.

NBI agents raided the company, alongside representatives of the Regional Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Labor and Employment.
