COTABATO CITY—A team of policemen, soldiers and narcs on Friday (July 24) seized some 200 grams of shabu, or crystal meth, and arrested two suspected pushers in a buy-bust operation in Pigcawayan town, Cotabato province.
Director Naravy Duquiatan, of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), said undercover operatives lured suspects Benjie Walas and Rahib Acob to a drug deal on the national highway at the village of Binucoga in Pigcawayan around 9 a.m. on Friday.
As the sale of meth was being consummated, the law enforcers immediately arrested the suspects.
Aside from the crystal meth, also seized from the suspects were two loaded caliber .45 pistols, a motorcycle with no license plate and a marked P1,000 bill atop fake money that was used for the bust.
Duquiatan acknowledged the participation of the PDEA in the Bangsamoro and Soccsksargen regions, the Army’s 34th Infantry Battalion and the Pigcawayan police in the operation.
The suspects are now detained at the PDEA jail facility in General Santos City.
