Coronavirus infects 35 more cops; PNP’s total tally reaches 1,796

MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-five more police officers have contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), boosting the total number of cases in the Philippine National Police to 1,796.

Of the latest number of  COVID-19 cases, 29 are from Metro Manila; two from Special Action Force; and one each from PNP Headquarters at Camp Crame, Quezon City, Mimaropa police, Cordillera police and PNP National Training Institute.

In its COVID-19 update posted on Facebook, PNP said two more police personnel survived the coronavirus disease. This brings the total recoveries in the police organization to 689.

PNP also documented 2,479 suspects and 720 probable for the coronavirus disease.
