MAN NABBED FOR SELLING NUBAIN

A MAN who was allegedly involved in illegal sale of Nubain was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Danao City, northern Cebu.
Aside from eight vials of Nubain, a painkiller considered as a prohibited drug, three loaded Magnum revolvers and a .38 revolver were also seized from Darwin Mata Manto.
Manto told police that he got his supply of Nubain from barangay Kamagayan in Cebu City.
Police said appropriate charges will be filed against the suspect./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC

2 MEN ARRESTED FOR THEFT

POLICE arrested two men who were allegedly caught stealing scrap metal from a surplus shop in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, on Monday morning.
Scrap metals worth at least P5,000 were recovered from Kingloyd Doloredo, 21, and Oliver Cole, 18, who were inside the premises of CKN International Philippines Motor Surplus when they were arrested around 7 a.m.
Complaints for theft have been filed against the two men before the Mandaue City Prosecutors’ Office, said police./REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS

MAN STABS SON

A MAN stabbed and wounded his son following a confrontation inside their house in barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City, on Monday.
Rodolfo Dalugdog, 50, was released from jail after his son Gerald decided not to file charges.
Police said Gerald, 26, confronted his father for alleged unfair treatment of Rodolfo’s grandchildren.
The father and son were in a heated argument when Rodolfo took a knife and stabbed Gerald in the chest and left hand, said police.
Other family members stopped the fight and rushed Gerald to the Cebu City Medical Center.
Rodolfo later surrendered to the police.
Police said Rodolfo was released after patching up differences with his son./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON

LAPU WORKER FACES ESTAFA RAPS

AN employee of the Lapu-Lapu City’s engineering office is facing trial in court for allegedly demanding cash from a woman who sought an electrical installation of her newly constructed house.
Alipio Augusto was indicted by the Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas on charges of estafa.
Augusto allegedly received P22,950 from Zanaida Galoyo but failed to facilitate the complainant’s request.
Aside from seeking payment for the installation of electricity in her house, Galoyo said the respondent also asked her to pay for the grant of the road-right-of-way and preparation of necessary documents./REPORTER ADOR VINCENT S. MAYOL
