MANILA, Philippines — “Large majorities” of Filipinos continue to practice health measures to prevent contracting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), although the number of people who said they observe physical distancing has declined, according to the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The survey released on Friday showed that 76 percent of adult Filipinos said they always use face masks when going out of their houses in the past month, while 17 percent said they do it most of the time, 4 percent wear it sometimes, and 2 percent said they rarely or never wore a face mask.

SWS noted that the figures hardly changed from the 77 percent who said in May that they always use face masks since the start of the COVID-19 crisis.
