PNP records 118 new COVID-19 cases; total swells to 1,761

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police on Thursday recorded 118 more cases of coronavirus disease, increasing the organization’s total number of cases to 1,761.

Of the latest number of cases, 82 were from Central Visayas, 30 from Metro Manila, two from Calabarzon and National Police Training Institute and one each from PNP Health Service and the Zamboanga Peninsula.

The total number of recoveries among PNP personnel reached 687 including 75 more patients who survived the disease.

There were no new deaths reported among police personnel. This maintained the total number of fatalities to nine.

Also, PNP is monitoring 2,470 suspects and 719 probable among their ranks. [ac]
