COVID-19 spike in Zambales: 5 new cases in 1 day

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—Local health officials on Wednesday (July 22) said five new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were added to the province’s tally, which was the highest number recorded in a single day.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said most of the cases were of people who had travelled to Metro Manila and other areas with high rates of infection.

The latest reported cases included that of a 45-year-old seafarer from Castillejos town, a 47-year-old woman from Botolan town, 40-year old man from Masinloc town, a 24-year-old woman from Botolan and an 18-year-old man from Caloocan who was stranded in the province.

The province has 45 COVID-19 cases to date.
