Major Metro Manila roads to undergo repairs

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Thursday warned the public to expect heavy traffic in eight Metro Manila major thoroughfares due to road repairs starting Friday.

In an advisory, the DPWH said the road improvement and maintenance work will start at 10 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. on Monday.

Affected streets include Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue (Buendia) from Roxas Boulevard to Macapagal Boulevard; and Taft Avenue from Sto. Niño Street to EDSA northbound, both in Pasay City.

In Manila, repairs will be carried out on New Panaderos Street in Sta. Ana and the southbound lane of South Superhighway from Zobel Roxas Street to Quirino Avenue.

In Quezon City, the affected thoroughfares include the southbound lane of EDSA from the Metro Rail Transit North Avenue Station to Quezon Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue—from Zuzuaregui to Commonwealth Market, the third lane between Feria Road and Ilang-Ilang northbound and the fourth lane southbound near Kilometer 16 under the supervision of the Quezon City First Engineering District Office.

The first lane from the center island of Katipunan Avenue, C-5 southbound going to Ortigas Avenue between Astoria Street and Eastwood Avenue will also undergo rehabilitation, the DPWH said.

It added that the fourth lane from the center island of Araneta Avenue from Landargun Street to Kapiligan Street will also be repaired.

In Caloocan City, the sixth lane from the center island of EDSA northbound between Mascardo and Ponce streets will also be affected.

The DPWH said that the public should send complaints or suggestions by calling 165-02; 5363477, or texting DPWH (space) message and sending their message to 2920.
