MANILA, Philippines — More than P100 million worth of crystal meth or “shabu” was seized while three suspects, including two Chinese men, were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.

A report from PDEA said anti-narcotics agents in Metro Manila arrested Yao Yuan and Piao Hong, who are believed to be Chinese nationals. An accomplice identified as Israel Ambulo was also apprehended during the anti-drug operations.

The PDEA National Capital Region office and PDEA Special Enforcement Service team conducted the bust in Barangay Central at 1:52 p.m.

Confiscated were shabu concealed inside Chinese teabags with estimated value of P136 million, the vehicle used in drug transaction, and four cellphones.

Suspects are now under custody of PDEA while cases for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against them.
