No let-up in rise of COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan; 5-month-old baby among new patients

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan –– The number of Pangasinenses who contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has jumped to 162 as of Tuesday.

The youngest is a 5-month-old boy from Barangay Carosucan Norte in Asingan town.

According to the Pangasinan provincial health office (PHO), the baby could have been exposed to another COVID-19 patient. He was taken to Asingan’s isolation facility.

Records from PHO showed that the number of patients on Tuesday was the biggest increase in the daily tally. On Monday, the cases reached 150.

The province’s 10th death from the disease also occurred that day. The last reported death was in April.

The latest fatality is a 69-year-old man from Barangay San Jose in Labrador town. He was admitted to the provincial hospital on Tuesday and died that same day.
