MANILA, Philippines — The Western Visayas and Mimaropa regions, as well as the provinces of Quezon, Laguna, Batangas and Cavite will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms on Wednesday due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), according to the state weather bureau.
The ITCZ is where winds coming from the northern and southern hemisphere converge, bringing clouds that cause rains in affected areas.
Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon including Metro Manila will have partly cloudy skies in the morning, according to the 4 a.m. weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration.
“Pero sa bandang hapon o gabi, magiging makulimlim o maulap ang kalangitan dahil sa mataas ang tsansa na magkaroon ng localized thunderstorms. Magbibigay ito ng isolated o biglaang pagbuhos ng ulan,” said Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio.
(However, in the afternoon or evening, there will be cloudy skies due to a high chance of occurrence of localized thunderstorms. These will bring isolated or sudden rains.)
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will also have partly cloudy skies especially in the morning but will have cloudy skies in the afternoon or evening with the possible occurrence of isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms, according to Aurelio.
