57 OFWs who died of COVID-19 arriving next week
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment said the remains of 57 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who died from COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia were expected to arrive on Tuesday next week.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said a chartered Philippine Airlines flight would ferry the remaining OFWs who died of COVID-19, 30 of whom are from Jeddah.
The rest are from Riyadh (20) and Al Khobar (7). Like the 137 OFWs who earlier arrived, the 57 remains will be accorded “the same grand welcome and memorial ceremonies due them upon their arrival” on July 28.
