House logs 18th COVID-19 case

MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives recorded Tuesday another case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) raising the total number of cases among its personnel to 18.

House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales said that the employee is assigned at the Bills & Index Service office and has been working from home since June 18.

The employee, however, went to their office on June 29, to submit documents.

Meanwhile, Montales noted that one of the previous confirmed cases in the House has now been tested negative for the virus,

Health protocols are being implemented at the House such as holding of online or hybrid hearings to ensure that social distancing is being practiced.

As of July 20, there are 69,898 COVID-19 cases in the country, with recoveries at 23,072 and death toll at 1,835.
