MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has committed to render justice in the case brought by a South Korean staffer of the Philippine Embassy against former Philippine Ambassador to Seoul, Noe Wong for sexual harassment.
The DFA said that Wong had resigned effective March 16, after the South Korea media reported that he was placed in the Interpol watchlist due to a sexual harassment case.
A retired police general, Wong was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte in February last year. He had also served as Ambassador to Cambodia.
“The Department is committed to ensuring that justice is rendered in this case,” the DFA said in a statement. Wong resigned as ambassador before he was ordered arrested by South Korea’s police authorities.
