MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) in Aseana in Parañaque City and the Consular Office in SM Manila will suspend operations on Tuesday, July 21, to allow for disinfection of their work places to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“Applicants who have prior appointments and schedules on 21 July 2020 will be accommodated as soon as these offices resume operations on Wednesday, 22 July 2020, until 20 August 2020,” the DFA said in its announcement on Monday.
The other consular offices will remain open with the usual operating hours.
“The DFA requests the public’s understanding and cooperation as we continue to battle against this pandemic,” the DFA said.
For the latest news and advisories, the DFA advised the public to check its consular website, its Facebook page, or its Twitter account.
This is not the first time that DFA made a routine disinfection operation.
Its Aseana and Alabang consular offices closed temporarily last July 5 and its Cubao consular office on July 15 for the same reason.
