MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has warned netizens of fake social media accounts bearing their name, after a supposedly bogus Facebook page started a stream of a popular shooting video game.

LTO on Monday clarified in its official Facebook account that a Facebook page bearing the name “Land Transportation Office (LTO)” is not managed by the transportation agency after a screenshot of the stream went viral a few days ago.

“The Facebook (FB) page ‘Land Transportation Office (LTO),’ which streamed a game last 17 July 2020, is NOT managed, affiliated, or recognized by our Agency,” LTO said.

A netizen’s post on Saturday gained attention after the user streaming a Playersunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) game used a page with LTO’s name. The streamer used LTO’s logo as its profile picture and even had a picture of its office as its cover photo.
