Bohol records 3rd COVID-19 death

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Philippines – Another person died of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Bohol, bringing the number of deaths in the province to three, Gov. Arthur Yap announced on Saturday.

The latest death was in Calape town.

The patient was admitted at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital last July 14 and died the following day.

Yap ordered the provincial health office to coordinate with officials of Calape town for the contact tracing.

“I repeat our appeal: Please follow the minimum health standards. Do not be complacent. Let us protect ourselves and our families,” he said in a post on Facebook.

Bohol has registered three deaths due to COVID-19.

The first was an 89-year-old man from Pangangan Island in Calape town who died last May 26 and the second was a 68-year-old man from Danao town who died last July 14.

Both patients died before their test results finding them positive for the disease could be released.
