Manila Prosecutors Office to reopen on July 20

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Prosecutor’s Office is set to resume operations on Monday, July 20, after it was placed on lockdown due to a COVID-19-infected staff.

Manila Prosecutor General Benedicto Malcontento confirmed this to reporters in a text message, saying the lockdown started on July 15.

“Last Wednesday, may COVID positive na staff, (Last Wednesday, there was a staff who was found positive for the virus),” Malcontento said Saturday when asked about the duration of the lockdown.

To date, Manila posted 3,714 COVID-19 cases with 2,145 recoveries and 193 deaths.
