Army holds forums on terrorism for Central Luzon villagers
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Army units in Central Luzon have organized forums on terrorism even before the controversial Republic Act No. 11479 (the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020) took effect on Saturday (July 18).
One of the forums was held in Bulacan on July 16 and 18, gathering municipal leaders and the barangay captains (village chairmen) of the towns of Norzagaray and Doña Remedios Trinidad to discuss “Awareness on Communism, Terrorism and Security for Peace 2020” or ACTS.
Executive Order No. 70, or the whole-of-nation approach of President Duterte to end the insurgency, and the new anti-terror law were explained in the forum, according to the 48th Infantry Battalion.
The participants later signed a manifesto supporting EO70 and the Anti-Terror Act.
