MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City’s COVID-19 referral center is nearly at full capacity due to the increasing number of COVID-19 patients, Mayor Vico Sotto revealed Wednesday.
“The establishment of our COVID Referral Center has increased our local healthcare system’s capacity, but we are also nearing our limits,” Sotto wrote in a tweet.
Yesterday, The Medical City announced that they are at full capacity. It seems that this is also the case for other hospitals in NCR.

In another tweet, Sotto shared an internal document of the COVID-19 referral center’s bed capacity in the Pasig City Children’s Hospital.
According to the document, only 49 of 135 beds remain available for COVID-19 patients.
“Overall, I have to admit that the numbers are not that comforting. But in cooperation with the national govt and the private sector, we will keep doing our best,” Sotto said.
