MANILA, Philippines — A new low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted east of Mindanao on Wednesday just as former tropical depression “Carina” evaporated before leaving the Philippine area of responsibility.
Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) showed that the LPA, last seen 110 kilometers southeast of Davao City, will bring rains to Visayas and Mindanao especially its eastern sections.
Pagasa says there is a possibility that the LPA would dissipate in the coming hours, which means that the weather may improve in Mindanao areas by Thursday.
Temperatures in Visayas may range from 25 to 31 degrees Celsius in Tacloban and Cebu, and 25 to 32 degrees in Iloilo. Meanwhile, temperatures in Davao would be around 25 to 33 degrees, 23 to 31 degrees in Cagayan de Oro, and 24 to 33 degrees in Zamboanga.
For Luzon including Metro Manila, weather would be slightly warm and humid, still with a chance of rains due to localized thunderstorms. Manila’s temperature would range between 25 to 33 degrees Celsius, 25 to 32 degrees in Laoag and Puerto Princesa, and 22 to 32 degrees in Tagaytay.
No gale warning has been raised as of now which means that seafarers and fisherfolk can set sail in any part of the country.
However, sea conditions in Luzon’s northern and western seas would be moderate, including the whole eastern seaboard of the country. The rest would see a slight to moderate condition.
