LUCENA CITY –– Police in this city arrested on Tuesday a suspected drug pusher, who turned out to be a recipient of the emergency cash aid under the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP) for persons affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Police Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea, City police chief, reported that anti-narcotics agents caught Christian Camposano, 28, after he sold a pack of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) to undercover police in Barangay Ibabang Iyam at 10:35 a.m.
Authorities seized seven plastic sachets of the illegal substance from Camposano, a former drug convict, and on the police drug watch list.
The police reported that Camposano was on the list of SAP beneficiaries, which was designed to help daily wage earners and the poor survive the lockdowns imposed by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
