CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE –– Twenty-three new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were recorded in Bulacan province on Thursday, raising the number of active cases to 225.
Dr. Betzaida Banaag, city health officer, on Friday said among the new patients are a 34-year-old government hospital worker and a 42-year-old Caloocan City government worker, both from this city.
Five of the fresh cases, which included a nurse and drivers, were recorded in Sta. Maria town.
The province has already recorded 568 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began.
Dr. Hijordis Marushka Celis, Bulacan public health officer 2, attributed the rising COVID-19 cases to the high number of residents working in Metro Manila.
