11 persons in Eastern Visayas test positive for COVID-19
TACLOBAN CITY –– At least 11 more individuals in Eastern Visayas tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, nine were locally stranded individuals (LSIs), an overseas worker, and a resident from Lavezares town.
At present, the region has 611 COVID-19 cases where 394 involves LSIs.
The newly infected LSIs were from the towns of Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte; Lavezares, Northern Samar; and Capoocan and Albuera, both in Leyte.
All of them were confined to their town’s respective isolation facilities.
On Wednesday, Dr. Minerva Molon, director of Department of Health in Eastern Visayas, led the launch of a campaign dubbed “Bida Solusyon sa COVID-19” with actor and host Alden Richards as its endorser.
Article continues after this advertisementThe campaign promotes the strict observance of health protocols such as the proper wearing of face masks, hand washing, and physical distancing to contain the spread of the virus.
