Waterspout seen off Panglao Island town coast

TAGBILARAN CITY –– A waterspout was seen off the coast of Dauis town on Panglao Island on Wednesday morning.

Ima Curiba was driving her car to a gasoline station along Gallares Street in Tagbilaran City around 11:45 a.m. when she saw the waterspout locally known as ipo-ipo.

She went live on Facebook to record the phenomenon, which disappeared after two minutes.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a waterspout is a whirling column of air and water mist.
