Nueva Ecija logs 4 new COVID-19 cases, 2 recoveries

CABANATUAN CITY –– Four new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in Nueva Ecija, according to the provincial inter-agency task force.

The new patients, who are all in their 40s, raised to 14 the active COVID-19 cases in the province.

Among the fresh cases are a 46-year-old woman from this city, who is undergoing treatment at the St. Lukes Global City and a 43-year-old security guard from Cuyapo town.

The guard could have been exposed to another COVID-19 patient last month, the task force said.

Also tested positive for the virus is a 45-year-old businesswoman, also from Cuyapo and had traveled to Tarlac and Pangasinan; and a 40-year-old male employee in an unspecified branch of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation from this city.

But the task force said they also recorded two new recoveries: a 78-year-old man from Barangay Lawang Kupang in San Antonio town and a 21-year-old seaman from Barangay Sta. Clara in Quezon town.

The province has recorded 85 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began.
