DAGUPAN CITY –– Two girls from Mangaldan town in Pangasinan province drowned in Angalacan River on Tuesday, authorities said.
Police did not identify the girls, who are both minors, but said they were with their relatives for a picnic when they went to the deep part of the river in Barangay Guesang around 5 p.m.
A team from the police and the municipal disaster risk reduction and management office found the girls’ bodies an hour later.
The girls were taken to the Mapandan Community Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
