MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Cabangan, Zambales on Wednesday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Information from Phivolcs showed the tectonic quake occurred at 8:28 a.m., with its epicenter located seven kilometers northwest of Cabagan town.
It had a depth of 55 kilometers.
Intensity IV was felt in San Felipe, Zambales, while intensity III was observed in Quezon City and Malabon City in Metro Manila.
Instrumental intensity III was likewise felt in Olongapo City, Zambales, and intensity I was registered also in Quezon City, Marikina City, Malolos City in Bulacan; Gapan City in Nueva Ecija, and Guagua town in Pampanga.
No damage or aftershock was expected from the tremor, according to Phivolcs.
