MANILA, Philippines—The statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth of beleaguered Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona was finally revealed to the public during the impeachment trial in the Senate on Wednesday.
Lead private prosecutor Mario Bautista read before the Senate acting as an impeachment court Corona’s SALN filed from 2002 to 2010.
Reading the documents, Bautista said Corona filed his SALN for December 2002 last March, 2003; his 2004 SALN filed on April 25, 2005; December 2005 SALN filed on December 31, 2006; his 2006 and 2007 SALN filed on September 23, 2007 and April 11, 2008, respectively; his 2008 SALN filed on April 28, 2009, and his 2009 SALN but the date filing was not eligible.
Corona’s last filing of his SALN was as of April 29, 2011 for the year 2010.
Corona’s alleged failure to disclose his SALN was one of eight articles of impeachment filed against him by 188 members of the House of Representatives.
